War of the Worlds

Just got back from seeing War of the Worlds with Laura:

Rough viewing (and not in a “bad film” way).

Let’s see:

Divorced Dad? Check.
Ex-Wife now with more financially-secure guy? Check.
Kids growing more distant? Check.
Young skinny blonde daughter with big blue eyes? Check.
Sullen teen who refuses to listen? Check.
Sudden attack with lots of property damage, collapsing buildings and billowing clouds of ash in the urban Northeast? CHECK.
Kids in distress, with one shrieking “is it the terrorists?”…..gah.

Sometimes I’m reminded of how deeply the whole thing still affects me. I sat through much of that movie with my heart literally pounding.

Wanna See Our Stage Show?

Just heard back from the Entertainment Director, and he’s given the OK for us to have an audience present during the second audition (where we’re running through our full show). He’s mentioned that he’s “spreading the word” as well….I guess he wants to see how an audience reacts to us.

So, for everyone who is interested, your chance to see Bard’s Bouts (minus costumes, but still…):

This Saturday, at 3:00 on the Robin Hood Stage at the Festival Site.
