She walks in beauty, like the night
  Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that ‘s best of dark and bright
 Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellow’d to that tender light
  Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
 Had half impair’d the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
 Or softly lightens o’er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
 How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

And on that cheek, and o’er that brow,
  So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
 But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
 A heart whose love is innocent!

– George Gordon, Lord Byron

Name a CD you own that no one else on your friends list does:

Crap. I was going to say any of the CDs of me performing electronica as “@nubis”, but actually I’ve given a couple of those out.

So… I’ll go with “The Best of James Bond: 30th Anniversary Limited Edition”, which is the two-disc version…which I know is rare (the single-disc version with just the themes is much more common).

Name a book you own that no one else on your friends list does:

An 1893 edition of “The Best Plays of Christopher Marlowe (Mermaid Edition)”, edited by Havelock Ellis. It’s beat up, and has the name of a previous owner (one “D. Elaine Stanberry”) written on the cover, but it’s by my favorite Elizabethan, it’s 111 years old, and that’s pretty damned cool.

Name a movie on DVD/VHS/whatever that on one else on your friends list does:

I’ve got the first season of the UK series “ROBIN OF SHERWOOD” on DVD, which I can watch because I have a multi-region DVD player. Although it occurs to me that Ian might have this…so, barring that, I’ve got a DVD copy of “GARGOYLES” a 1972 made-for-TV horror movie that scared the bejesus out of me when I saw it in re-runs as a kid.

Name a place that you have visited that no one else on your friends list has:

I’ll cop out and say The Hamptons, where I grew up. Not really visiting, I know, but I don’t think anyone on my friends list has been there.

Name a Piece of clothing that no one else on your friends list has:

It’s kinda embarrassing, but I am the proud owner of a “Doctor Who” sweater-vest, festooned with question marks (as worn by the Seventh Doctor–see this picture).

Name an occupation that you’ve had that no one else on your friends list has had:
