Kindle DX

Amazon is rolling out the new Kindle DX — with a 9.7″ viewing screen….and, perhaps most significantly: native PDF support.

From what I’m hearing, this sucker was aimed solidly at the incredibly lucrative college textbook market… and as the promo video says, the PDF support and larger screen makes it easy to read “charts and maps” — which means that this sucker has *definite* application to the RPG publishing business.

Very interesting.

More Web Series Stuff

Another web series announced: The Mercury Men — bringing back the classic serial format of the 30s and 40s.

More and more of these are popping up. I need to get moving. A pulp serial was one of my other concepts (live action, rather than the animated format we’re going with for FAR WEST). Still no reason why it can’t be done, of course, but it the longer I wait on these, the more direct genre competition will exist.

This is definitely where I want Adamant to move. RPGs are fine, and we’ll continue them — but as just one of the many options we present for enjoying our properties.

Which reminds me: If web series production is something you’d like to get onboard, and you think you’ve got an applicable skill set, drop me a comment or an email.
