Gah. I just found out that World of Warcraft is playable with a Mac.
After checking out the screen shots on
Luckily, right now it would require that I purchase a bit more RAM….which is probably the ONLY thing that is preventing me from begging for the game for X-Mas.
How much RAM do you have. is playing adequately (only real lag in big cities) with 256MB, which is the minimum for a PC…
As MMORPGs go, it is a really good one, fun gameplay, great variety, eyecandy landscaptes, and essentially no level grind.
Or, as Madam Red would tell you…go ahead, you know you want to…

Glad to see I’m not the only one cursing Bruce Baugh for opening my eyes to the Mac compatibility…ever since he posted the first shot I’ve been eyeing my Powerbook and thinking of running around as a big bull-man and smacking things with a sword. :P
I have 256, but the Mac tech requirements on the website lists 512 as the Mac minimum.
Given the amount of music production and graphic design work I do, I should upgrade to 512 anyway.
Hey–quit that. You’re tempting me.
< gritted teeth > Once again, I’m so happy to have a PC that’s inadequate to the task of playing the hot new
time sinkgame. < /gritted teeth >Brains!

I wasn’t sold on the game myself until a couple of weeks ago when the beta was ending and showed me that I could play, among other things, a flesh eating zombie bent on world destruction that could fly a giant hellbat, turn his enemies in soulstones that he used to health and summon demons to beat up good guys.
Sooooooold!
And they’ve got humans, elves, dwarves, gnomes, orcs, tauren (noble minotaurs), etc.
That is, wholly, my job in this world.
Hell, if you use it for your work, the RAM would be tax deductible…

Re: Brains!
ZOMBIE PC!! Oh, you are an evil, evil person.
Somehow, when I envision you talking about my ram, it isn’t about computer memory.
Now I feel all dirty.
My job here is done.
