Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss are creating a new crime drama for the BBC: Sherlock.
The show will be set entirely in modern-day London. Mark Gatiss said in an interview that he and Moffat were inspired by the contemporized Sherlock Holmes films of the 1940s. Moffat says: “”Everything that matters about Holmes and Watson is the same, Conan Doyle’s original stories were never about frock coats and gas light; they’re about brilliant detection, dreadful villains and blood-curdling crimes – and frankly, the hell with the crinoline.”
Apparently, it’s only a one-shot 60-minute episode (so far), which starts filming this month, but I assume if it turns out well, they’ll do more.
Hooray, bittorrent….
