Battlestar Galactica

I have to admit, that even as a huge fan of the original 1978 version of Battlestar Galactica (always better in conception and design than in execution), that the new 2003 miniseries version of Battlestar Galactica, which finished airing on the increasingly-misnamed SciFi Channel last night, was really not too bad.

Sure, they changed a lot. Sure, a lot of what they touted as “bold new dramatic elements to sci-fi” were done before. But it really wasn’t bad…and SciFi Channel should be encouraged to make more stuff like this, and less crap like Scare Tactics and their other “reality show” BS that has sod-all to do with the genre.

Yes, that’s right—we’ve gotten to the point where something called “The SciFi Channel” deserves applause for actually producing Science Fiction.
