I recall your post from last year, where you vilified people who wore T-shirts saying “Never Forget” but hadn’t been directly involved in the events of 9/11. I have a different view of the question and posted comments about it on my own LJ, should you care to read them.
I was “villifying” far more than the mere lack of involvement — I was villifying the fact that most of these folks — the ones who seem bent on turning it into “their” tragedy — were the ones most likely to have viewed NYC as filled with “foreigners and liberals” — you know, not “real americans”……and are now the ones who use it to bludgeon us all with their ignorant agenda.
They’re also the ones that get in a huff when you dare point out that watching something on TV isn’t the same thing as experiencing it…..you know, like how DARE someone question their “American Tragedy” credentials or something.
