Quickie

Third weekend went well–weather was good, no major SNAFUs or annoyances, outside of the usual ones.

Very busy right now, trying to get back onto something resembling a regular release schedule for Adamant Entertainment, so this is just a brief status post.

Oh–I discovered that a fellow performer whom I spend a great deal of time with during the Festival day has a Livejournal, so I’ve added it to the links over on the side, there. (Unless you’re reading this on LJ, I suppose, in which case those links aren’t there). Michael plays Captain De Silva, and is a huge part of getting me through each day.

More later.

Second Weekend

I’m in much better shape this week than last, as I was witness first-hand to the victory of function over fashion. After a particularly painful day this Saturday, where my flat feet and pronated ankles were particularly acute (having me walking, essentially, on my instep and ankle bone), I switched boots on Sunday, replacing my very courtly and pretty thigh-high soft leather boots with my older pair of dinged-up rigid leather riding boots that I usually wear with my armor. My feet still hurt last night, but it was mostly just the natural effect of 12-13 hours walking around on feet that hurt from the previous day, without any added injury on top of that.

So, it looks like I’ll take some time this week to “pretty up” the riding boots (saddle soap and chamois cloth, here I come), and I’ll be wearing those from here on out. Not as dashing as the thigh-highs, but then again, hobbling about like a lame beggar isn’t too dashing, either. :)

Some more pictures are cropping up: Here is a gallery of pictures from the first weekend, from photographer Michael Strange (parent of one of our younger cast members). If past years are any indication, that gallery will fill up with pictures from every weekend as the Festival continues.

I Hate It When I’m Right.

From CNN: Cheney: Kerry Win Risks Terror Attack

Yes, that’s right–the VP actually said that a vote for Kerry would put the United States at risk of another devastating terrorist attack.

Readers of this blog will note that I predicted this very thing, exactly two months ago:

“Mark my words…as we get closer to November, they’re going to be bolder and more direct in their bullshit. Expect to see the nearly explicit statement that a defeat for Bush is what the Terrorists want. “A vote for Kerry is a vote for Al-Queda.” I can smell it coming.”

How can anybody with a conscience and half a brain support Bush and company? I just don’t get it. How much more evidence do you need?
