A Christmas Gift

I’ve been very busy with the holiday coming up. Sorry for the lack of regular content.

My first viewings of Fellowship of the Rings and The Two Towers both were featured in this blog, so to continue that tradition, albeit in a neccessarily brief format: I saw Return of the King last weekend. It was brilliant, as I expected. I had a few nitpicks, mostly due to the execution of a couple of my favorite scenes from the books not measuring up to my 20-plus-year-old imaginings of them, but it was as close to perfect as it could have been, otherwise.

Now, back to work. Since I most likely will not be updating before Christmas, I’ll wish all of you Happy Holidays, and leave you with this “gift”, inflicted upon me by the Dastardly Best Friend:

Oh, the pain…

Next Film Obsession

I had mentioned some time ago on this blog that after the Lord of the Rings films were done, the next movie that I’d be geeking out over would be a Jude Law/Gwyneth Paltrow pulp-genre movie, originally called World of Tomorrow, that was filmed extensively with virtual sets.

Well, it’s got a release date (Summer 2004), a new title which indicates it might be the first film of a series (Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow), and a nifty-keen preview website. Check it out.

Mmmmm. Pulpy Goodness.

The Richest Man in Bedford Falls

Wow…thank you. Thanks to everyone who generously offered their help. I’m still not completely out of the woods (not by a long shot), but thanks to all of you, I can at least make out the trail. The support and good wishes that you guys sent my way this weekend left me feeling like George Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life (well, at the end of the movie, when everything is cool…not the earlier part where he wants to jump off the bridge).

Merry Christmas, folks.
