Transmedia Call of Cthulhu

Cubicle 7 Entertainment is launching a Kickstarter for their newest release for Call of Cthulhu — a deluxe boxed set detailing London in the 1920s. The Kickstarter will go live on November 12th. The box set will feature a complete guide to London during the period, full-color maps, player hand-outs, adventures, a Keeper’s Guide, and more.

During the run of the Kickstarter, there’s a transmedia game underway as well — Investigator Neve Selcibuc is recovering from some recent unpleasantness by getting some much needed relaxation in London, and she’ll be sending out postcards apprising us of her progress, and asking for our advice on where to go and what to do. The first of the postcards has already been sent, and appears above (Click for a full-sized version). Answer her by emailing neveselcibuc@gmail.com. You can also follow her progress via Twitter:

So come along for the ride — it should be very, very interesting… and check out the London boxed set Kickstarter when it goes live.

My New-Old Gig

C7_announcement

We just made the official announcement today: I’m taking a gig with Cubicle 7 Entertainment as the Line Developer for the tabletop games line of my creation Far West. So I’ll be continuing to helm FAR WEST, but will be doing it with an amazing amount of support!

Cubicle 7 will be the exclusive publisher of tabletop games for the setting, and will distribute them world-wide. I’ll shepherd the line, make sure it continues to mesh with all other FAR WEST releases (fiction, comics, web series, what-have-you) — which will still be released by my own company, Adamant Entertainment.

I’m thrilled about this. The delays in production of the FAR WEST Adventure Game core rulebook were due largely to the project becoming much larger than could readily be handled without assistance, and partnering with one of the top games publishers in the world will mean that I’ve got a great bunch of creative people at my back, as well as the infrastructure in place to handle things like distribution, warehousing, etc. — freeing me up to concentrate on line development, direction and creation.

Cubicle 7 has committed to a robust release schedule of support as well — so expect announcements soon about what we’ll have coming for the line in the first year.

Video Killed The… Something Something

I’ve appeared in a couple of video projects recently, and so I figured that I’d share them here, for posterity’s sake.

In chronological order:

On Thursday, August 16th, 2012, T.S. Luikart and I had a seminar at GenCon (where we were both Guests of Honor), entitled “Far West: Western, Wuxia, Wild!”— an informational overview and Q&A on all aspects of the property — how it was developed, what’s been released, what’s still coming, and what is planned.

We recorded it so that it could be posted to the Far West website:

On August 27th, I participated in a Google Hangout with Chris Helton of the Dorkland!Roundtable. For those of you who aren’t already aware, A Hangout is a live video chat that is hosted on Google+, and then afterward is archived as a YouTube video. Pretty damned nifty — micro-broadcasting, really — and I plan on doing more of these in the future.

So there you have it. Two hours of rambling by yours truly. Enjoy!
