1. I don’t know how hard the Right is going to push on this one. The Patriot Act is pretty unpopular with the Fear Of A Black ‘Copter set. The fact that Feingold had bipartisan support on his filibuster makes it harder for them as well.

   Not to mention they’re currently trying to figure out what to do with the ANWAR provision Ted Stevens stuck in the defense spending bill.

   wow. just… wow. I feel my mageneto-cynical shield recoiling very slighting in utter fucking-wonderment.

   And when was the last time a Senator said something like this: “”It is time to have some checks and balances in this country,” shouted Sen. Patrick Leahy, ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee. “We are more American for doing that.”” and actually followed it by DOING something?!?
