A Blatant Plug

So, the recent hubbub over fame and UnderWorld led me to realize that I haven’t talked about work stuff on here in a very long time…and that there are people who read this more for the game design-ey stuff rather than the generic life stuff. So, for those folks, and anybody else who might be interested:

I just released this:

(Click the cover image to be taken to the product page at RPGNow)

CORSAIR: The Definitive D20 Guide to Ships is a 67-page PDF, detailing complete rules for adding sailing vessels to D&D campaigns. The rules are focused on the 1650-1750 period, compiled from my earlier work on Skull & Bones and Buccaneers & Bokor. The product went live last night, and since then, we’ve racked up some fairly impressive sales…if this keeps up, it looks to be our best-selling product ever. Woo-hoo!

A Nice Gesture

So I check my email this morning, and I get the following:

Mr. Skarka-
This is a letter of apology.  I made the post on RPG.net somewhat in haste and I wanted you to know that indeed I WILL be purchasing your excellent Underworld afterall.  I can separate the art from the artist.  At the time I posted, I was mainly upset that so many game designers, whose work I so admire, have been taking shots at the South, Southerners and so-called evangelical Christians for Bush’s victory at the polls.  After all, as many Catholics as evangelicals voted for Bush.  Why not blame them?

In any case, I hope you will accept my apology.  I hope my post did not cause you any undue stress and I wish you continued success in the future.  I still think your politics are wacky, but hey I think Jonathan Tweet’s are too and I still play D&D…
Sincerely,
Anthony W. Roberson

P.S.  I will be posting a copy of this apology on RPG.net

Nice gesture on his part. Apologies on the internet are rare, and should be applauded when they occur….and, since he’s posting it publicly on RPGnet, I figured I’d return the favor and post it here as well.
