In response to a recent incident in which blogger Raed Jarrar was forced to take off a shirt with Arabic writing on it or miss his flight at JFK, a T-shirt has been released:
It says “I AM NOT A TERRORIST.”
They can be ordered here, with all profits going to the ACLU.
I hope they’re still on sale when I’m in a position to afford one.
Better yet – I hope they AREN’T available any more, because they’re no longer necessary.
Wonder what they plan to do with people with Arabic tattoos…..
Mine and‘s are winging their way to us. Thank you for posting the link.
And Gareth’s most recent post about CNN has convinced me that I’m going to wear it on 9/11 this year.
Oooo. Good idea. I will, too. That’s a Monday, so what a good way to start the week.
In Toronto I was questioned (very briefly), but not detained, for an Arabic-text “Maktub” sticker on my notebook. One other time a luggage inspector asked me what it meant, and he seemed concerned until I explained it was a band from Seattle.
That’s a Monday, so what a good way to start the week.
Yep. Exactly.
Or sold out!
