While the media still orgasms over the latest chapter of the JonBenet tabloid story (or “How to get 10 years of news out of a kid who only lived for 6”), the following quote escaped our Clueless Leader’s lips today:
“The strategy is to help the Iraqi people achieve the objectives and dreams which is a democratic society. That’s the strategy. The tactics — now — either you say yes it’s important we stay there and get it done or we leave. We’re not leaving so long as I’m the president. That would be a huge mistake. “
For those of you paying attention: This is a blatant statement that the asshole doesn’t think the situation will be resolved in the next 2 1/2 years. We’ll still be there, when he skulks off the world stage, counting his money.
Over 2600 US dead.
Over 19,000 wounded.
Civilian death toll at or over 3,000 per month. PER MONTH.
Cost of the war (at least what we can publicly determine): 308.5 Billion, so far.
….and the asshole admits that we won’t be pulling out at any time during the next 2 1/2 years.
I’m dead certain you know how liberal I am, but honestly, did you really expect him to blink his eyes a few times, shake off what appeared to be cobwebs in his brain, and finally say, “Well in the name of all that is holy, I’ve made a big mistake and I best man up to it. We’re getting out and right soon.”
He’s shown time and time again he cannot admit to any error and will not do anything to change any decision of that magnitude.
I’m sure there were some people who applauded his statement as well. Sick.
He’s said before that the resolution to the US involvement in the conflict in Iraq would be up to future presidents.
Too bad H.W.didn’t pull out sooner…
