4th of July

I have lost so much faith in this country, over what has been done to it, and the quiet acquiescence of the people to the constant dismantling of our freedoms and our democracy……I’ve lost so much faith, that it has formed a large part of my reasoning for deciding to expatriate in the next couple years.

I just saw Keith Olbermann’s commentary from last night. He distills the entire issue surrounding the commutation of Libby’s sentence into clear, powerful, emotional language. Every American needs to see this. Every American needs to see this, and remember what it is that we are losing.

Spread this around. Please.

  1. You know, I was initially directed to your journal because of political commentary, and nearly had a heart attack when I saw your FarWest stuff.

My socks are knocked off regarding farwest, but your political posts are fantastic, and many thanks for this.

It’s amazing how many of the initial charges we leveled in the Declaration of Independence are applicable today.

  2. thank you thank you. Talk about words that resonate in my soul. I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to say exactly what he said. Thank you! But I refuse to run. I would rather stay and fight, by whatever means necessary and/or available. I refuse to let the likes of him and his ilk destroy the only real light in this fucked up world, and that is the Constitution.

  3. You’re going to give yourself a stroke sometime soon, Gareth. While this really does suck a big one, compared to just about any other country, we still have a lot more innate rights. Of course, each administration has been doing it’s best to chip away at what rights we have.
