I broke down and ordered the following from the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society:
The DVD of their silent movie version of “Call of Cthulhu”, which includes the 47-minute film (done in the style of a 1920s-period film — check out the trailer), the soundtrack, deleted scenes, a making-of documentary and more goodies. Can you say viewing party? I knew you could.
…plus, because I’m a total geek, I grabbed the 20s-style movie poster as well. 12 x 24. This sucker is going in my office:
That poster is gorgeous. Wow.
I own the DVD and can report that it is very cool. But if you were really a hard-core cthulhu geek, you’d be ordering the Angell Box.
That’s so cool!
We’re showing that at Origins this year. It looks neat.
That poster rawks. I’ve been considering getting the DVD myself, but I’ll wait on your review of it before I do so (that, plus it gives me time to save up the moolah to do so :D)
I’ll bring the popcorn.
…or the Mythos O’s cereal….
I own the DVD. You will not regret the purchase. :-)
BTW, apologies for never having e-mailed you back on that related issue. I’ve been up to my nostrils in work. I’d be happy to help with any concept-bouncing or think-tanking, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to participate any more than that, at least in the immediate future.
Good decision. I picked this up at Dragonmeet. It’s a work of love.
And by the way… is there still room on that related project to which Ari refers above?
Absolutely. I’ll be in touch after I’m through the GAMA Trade Show Hell.
What an amazing poster. Covet, covet, covet…
I was lucky enough to catch this at the Lovecraft Film Festival last year . . . It’s INCREDIBLE. Hope you enjoy it!
I’ve seen it and really enjoyed it. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
That’s a /fantastic/ poster, wow.
