This is so damned cool, I had to share:
From today’s NY Times: A story about South Korea’s plans for domestic robotics:
If all goes according to plan, robots will be in every South Korean household between 2015 and 2020.

We’ll see how South Korea feels when the little mechanical bastards all line up and start intoning, “EXTERMINATE!! EXTERMINATE!!”
(Hmmm … maybe that’s Bush’s strategy … )
(Nah … too intelligent.)
I dunno. I’m all for jumping on the technical bandwagon, and I have to admit that several Asian countries are doing some really cool thing with technology today, but unless robotic technology comes a long way in the next 5-10 years, the robots will really be just glorified appliances. Of course, they’ll probably end up passing the Turing test.
PS: The robot picture looks like a pedal-powered cheap Vegas jackpot machine :D
