It just made history.
It’s the first song to hit Number One in the UK, based on download sales alone. That’s pretty nifty.
Naturally, because it’s #1 in the UK, that means that it will be doomed to obscurity here in the US. :)
Who’d have thought that people would rather pay 79p for a single as a download, than pay £2-4 in a store for a cd? Wonder if the music industry is starting to get it yet …?
